2022 was a year that Raúl and Sam will never forget. After a successful career in the beauty industry, working with luxury brands like L’Oréal, Raúl never imagined that a trip to Europe would change his life so drastically. It was in Madrid where he met Sam, a handsome doctor from Northern Ireland. Although both initially thought it would be a fleeting adventure, fate had other plans.
Raúl, with his background in marketing love stories through perfumes and cosmetics, never expected to find himself at the center of one. But after meeting Sam, everything changed. Despite a 20-year age gap and living in different countries, their connection was undeniable. Within two weeks, Raúl made the bold decision to leave his life in Mexico behind and move to London to be with Sam. The proposal was just as unique as their love story. While Raúl was in Mexico, he sent Sam a video from a Cartier boutique, holding a trinity ring and asking, “Will you marry me?” Sam, who had initially been hesitant about Raúl’s style choices, was now completely won over by the man who had moved across the world for him.
Their wedding, set in the enchanting town of San Miguel de Allende, was a celebration of their journey together. With colors of off-white, green, burgundy, and cream, the aesthetic was both modern and boho, reflecting their personalities and style. The ceremony itself was deeply personal, blending traditional elements from different cultures, including a Mexican bond, an Asian sand ceremony, and a cacao blessing. None of this would have been possible without the exceptional work of Penzi Weddings, who expertly planned and executed every detail of the day, ensuring that Raúl and Sam’s vision was brought to life.
Raúl and Sam both wore matching outfits, curated by Sam. The look featured black tuxedo pants, white shirts, and beige blazers, paired with black suede loafers. The attention to detail, from the cufflinks shaped like trees to the vintage-style bows, was impeccable.
The reception was a magical affair, filled with emotional moments, laughter, and joy. Their first dance, set to “Say You Love Me” by Jessie Ware, was a highlight, leaving guests in awe of the couple’s deep connection. The night continued with dancing, delicious food, and a stunning five-tier wedding cake gifted by a close friend.
Raúl and Sam’s wedding was a testament to the power of love, showing that when you find the right person, no distance, age, or cultural difference can stand in the way. For them, the day was a dream come true, filled with the love and support of their closest friends and family. And as they both say, it was the happiest day of their lives.
