In a world full of borders, love stories know no limits. The wedding of Aagya and Kishore was a showcase of diversity, luxury, and sophistication: a meeting of vibrant Asian tradition and the cosmopolitan energy of Mexico City. Sofitel Mexico City Reforma was the main stage for a celebration that transcended the concept of a wedding to become a truly unique multicultural experience.
From the intimate mehndi to the elegant reception dinner, every moment was an aesthetic statement: color, music, history, and modernity fused together with the impeccable curatorship of their wedding planner, who transformed the logistics of four days of festivities into a poetic experience.
The Beginning of Eternal Love
Aagya and Kishore met in New York in 2021. They got engaged in a vineyard in Provence—because Châteauneuf-du-Pape is her favorite wine—and later celebrated with friends at a Taylor Swift concert in Amsterdam. However, they chose to seal their love in Mexico City, the place that once welcomed them for a summer and now holds their most romantic chapter.
Mehndi and Welcome
Wednesday began with the mehndi ritual, where the bride’s hands and feet were adorned with henna, symbolizing love and prosperity. Between laughter, tea, and heartfelt conversations, family and friends connected with the essence of what was to come.
On Thursday, the couple returned to the neighborhood that once stole their hearts: La Roma, where they had spent a summer years before. A chic photoshoot through its streets and a toast at Blanco Colima with their closest circle marked the day. That same night, the Cityzen Rooftop Bar at Sofitel officially kicked off the celebrations: a welcome party with breathtaking views, music, and the energy of a big city.

Sangeet and Baraat
Friday was reserved for the Sangeet, a night of overflowing energy at Prim 30, where Bollywood beats blended with Mexican flavors: tlayudas, mezcal, and even a hookah bar that became a sensation among the groom’s friends. The décor, inspired by Hindu art with touches of Oaxacan folklore, paid tribute to the cultural fusion that defines the couple.
Saturday arrived with the big day. It began with a private exchange of vows between the couple. Then, the Baraat kicked off with a double-decker bus circling the Ángel de la Independencia in an explosion of music and color cannons. The scene continued with horses, drums, and dancing along Reforma, all leading to the Sofitel, where the Versalles Ballroom was transformed into a mystical space. In front of a panoramic window with the city as a backdrop, a floral mandap hosted a Hindu ceremony filled with symbolism, tradition, and emotion.

San Hipólito and the Eternal Party
The reception at the majestic Ex Convento de San Hipólito was the perfect finale: a cocktail among historic walls, a string quartet accompanying the entrances, and a dinner that fused fine French gastronomy with Indian flavors. Emotional speeches, a long-awaited first dance, and a lively dance floor turned the night into an unforgettable party.

The Vision Behind the Luxury
None of this would have been possible without the sensitivity and expertise of wedding planner Lorena Aldana, a destination wedding and Indian wedding specialist in Mexico with over a decade of experience designing celebrations rich in symbolism and impeccable
aesthetics. Her team—Luisa Ortíz and Diana Reséndiz, experts in logistics, design, architecture, décor, and hospitality—created an environment where the couple could enjoy the process stress-free, from menu tastings to DJ sessions.
Sofitel was far more than just a venue: its iconic location on Paseo de la Reforma, the versatility of its spaces, and its attentive, sophisticated staff made it the perfect ally. From adapting menus to a multicultural palate to offering impeccable hospitality, every detail reflected a blend of French luxury and Mexican warmth.
The Best Memory
Aagya and Kishore’s wedding was a manifesto of how love can unite cultures, cities, and traditions in a single story. Between henna and champagne, horses and color cannons, private vows and endless parties, what remained was the certainty that love, when celebrated with an open heart and the beauty of diversity, transcends any border.
